New Delhi: After 56 days long sabbatical, Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi today returned to Delhi. According to sources he came here by Bangkok flight. Hope, Mr Gandhi will address the farmers’ rally on 19th of this month at Ramlila Ground. He is expected to meet party senior leaders soon to discuss future strategy. Party President Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi visited Rahul Gandhi’s 12 Tughlaq Lane residence.
Rahul Gandhi was away from work for 56 days, with his leave announced by the Congress on the day Parliament’s budget session got underway on 23rd of February. The Congress had maintained that Mr Gandhi wanted some time out to introspect on the recent debacles faced by the party and planning future strategy. Mr Gandhi’s absence had left the Congress to field questions about his location and return on a daily basis.
Reacting to the arrival of Rahul Gandhi, BJP Spokesperson Sambit Patra said there is nothing called as part time politics, it is a complete full time job. He also said Mr Rahul should not shy away from his duties
