New Delhi: It was an emotional reunion for Rohina Kiyani of Pakistan at Attari-Wagah border today as she got her five-year-old son Iftikhar Ahmed back nearly 11 months after his father took him away to J&K.
The boy was handed over to the mother by Pakistan High Commission officials. “The cooperative role of Indian authorities is much appreciated,” said Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit.

In March 2016, Gulzar Ahmed, who belongs to J&K, allegedly lied to his wife that he was taking Iftikhar to a wedding, but instead took him to Dubai and then J&K. Rohina filed a case for her son’s custody in an Indian court, which decided in her favour.
