New Delhi: A Delhi court today remanded to one-day judicial custody two persons, including the brother of an AAP MLA, in a case of alleged assault on a woman and causing hurt following an argument last night.
Both the men were produced before a magistrate who sent them to judicial custody till tomorrow.
The incident took place last night when AAP MLA from Janakpuri Rajesh Rishi’s brother Rajeev and his associate Satish Yadav allegedly got into a fight with their neighbours in southwest Delhi’s Dabri area.
Police said the residents were facing inconvenience for the past one month as a large number of people visited the MLA’s Dabri residence for getting tickets for the MCD polls.
It said the locals alleged that the people visiting the place drank liquor in cars and created problems for the locals to park their vehicles too.
Yesterday, when the residents had gone to discuss the issue, Rajeev and Satish allegedly manhandled a woman and were arrested last night.
They have been booked under sections 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354B (assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and 34 (common intention) of IPC.
