New Delhi: Rajasthan farmers Gajendra Singh suicide hit the working of Lok Sabha, speaker Sumitra Mahajan adjourned the Lok Sabha till 12 pm. Speaker Sumitra Mahajan warned the members to behave themselves and not to politicise the matter. “Abhi kyun chilla rahe ho. Kal gaye the bachane us kisan ko,” Mahajan told protesting members.The outrage over Gajendra Singh’s suicide reached the Lok Sabha as Opposition demanded suspension of the Question Hour. As Speaker Sumitra Mahajan did not allow the suspension, Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge said, “Police and the people on the stage at the rally just kept watching the farmer’s suicide. If we don’t suspend Question Hour over this issue, what will be suspend it over?”
In response, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu said, “The issue raised by Khargeji is a very serious issue. The government has no problem discussing it.”
In other hand, BJP workers are staging a protest outside the Delhi police headquarters in New Delhi over Gajendra Singh’s suicide.
The last rites of deceased farmer Gajendra Singh was conducted in Dausa, Rajasthan. Meanwhile, Home Mnister Rajnath Singh is expected to make a statement on the issue at around 12 pm.
