NEW DELHI: Sulabh International today conferred three awards worth Rs. 10 lakh to mark the death anniversary of great poet Dr. Ramdhari Singh Dinkar here today.
Eminent poet Sarda Saidpuri was conferred with first Dinkar Sulabh Sahitya Samman worth Rs 5 lakh . While Rs. 2.5 lakh worth Sulabh Sanitation award was conferred to Nai Dunia newspaper for highlighting the issues relating to sanitation.
A social activist Sanjay Sukla of Betul district of Madhya Pradesh got a cheque of Rs. 2.5 lakh for his contributions towards sanitation awareness and motivation .
While paying rich tribute to the great poet , Sulabh Sanitation and Social Reform movement Founder Dr. Bindeshwar Pathak announced his decision to bring out a special Hindi dictionary comprising words of day today uses.
This dictionary would carry popular words of English as well as all other Indian languages which are being used commonly in Hindi.
Dr. Pathak says,”You are aware of immsense literary and cultural contributions of Dr. Ramdhari Singh ‘Dinkar’. He wrote many outstanding poems and pieces of prose. One of his remarkable books is Sanskriti ke Char Adhyaya which won him the Sahitya Academy Award, and a long and memorable Foreword of this work was written by Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru”.
Former Governor and well known scholar B.P Singh, while delivering first Dinkar Memorial Lecture, called upon the youths to follow the path of great poets like Dinkar who tried to ignite the young minds towards nationality.
BJP’s Vice President and Lok Sabha member Dr. C.P Thakur termed Dinkar as a true nationalist who served the nation and society through his powerful writings.
