Janjivan Bureau / New Delhi : Newly constituted National Commission for Minorities SEEKS REPORT ON BALLABGARH and JHARKHAND LYNCHING INCIDENT. In Todays meeting of NCM the Chairperson, Syed Ghayorul Hasan Rizvi, Members, George Kurian, Sunil Singhi, Sulekha Kumbhare, Dastur Khurshed Kaikobad Dastoor and Commission’s officials discussed the recent incidents of lynching in the country.
The Commission discussed the issue of lynching of a Muslim youth at Ballabgarh on 22nd June, 2017. A report in this matter was sought from Deputy Commissioner, Faridabad. The report was also discussed in the Commission. The Commission expressed satisfaction on the action taken by the District authorities and police to nab the culprits and handle the situation peacefully.
Chairman, NCM informed the Commission that based on media reports about lynching of a trader in Jharkhand on 29.06.2017, he had called up DGP, Jharkhand on 30.06.2017 for the status of the incident. DGP, Jharkhand has assured to take all possible steps to arrest the accused persons. It is now reported in the media that two persons have been arrested. Moreover, NCM has sought a detailed report from DM, Ramgarh about the incident vide letter dated 03.07.2017.
