Janjivan Bureau / New Delhi : Union Minister for Minority Affairs Shri Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today said here that growing population across the world is the biggest hurdle in the way of sustainable development.
Addressing Members of Parliament and leaders from social field at a conference organised by “Indian Association of Parliamentarians on Population and Development” Naqvi said that the increasing population has been causing several other problems related to development, employment and health.
Naqvi appealed to the MPs and other leaders, present at the conference, to come together and create awareness on large scale to tackle the menace of population.
Naqvi said that India has all the potentials to become a “Medical Tourism Hub” of the world and the Centre’s Modi Government has taken several measures in this regard.
Our Government has been working with a priority to strengthen our medical services which also include the Budget of thousands of crores of rupees.
Naqvi said that in a revolutionary step to provide affordable, quality heart related healthcare for all, the Central Government on 13 February, 2017 has issued the notification for fixing the ceiling prices of coronary stents. The step would bring down the cost of coronary stents by about 380 per cent. These measures include opening “Jan Aushadhi Centres” across the country which are being providing medicines at low cost.
Naqvi also informed the present dignitaries about various welfare schemes of the Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Modi Government has launched each and every welfare scheme keeping in the mind the poor, weaker sections, women, Minorities, backwards of the society.
Naqvi said that our Government has brought several schemes to empower the youths of the country. These include schemes such as “Make in India, “Skill India” “Start Up India” “Stand Up India”. During the last three years, Our Government has created employment and employment opportunities to more than 7 crore 50 lakh people.
Naqvi said that the Modi Government is a Government of Reforms. It has initiated reforms in social, economic, political and other fields.
Members of Parliament and other leaders from social field from India and also Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cameroon, Kenya, Liberia, Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia, Malaysia, Nepal, Tajikistan, Japan, UAE, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and Jordan are participating in the two-day conference which started today.
