Janjivan Bureau / Mumbai : Maharashtra NCP president Sunil Tatkare today mocked the Shiv Sena over its announcement to go solo in the 2019 elections.
Tatkare said it seemed that the saffron party was using its remaining tenure in the government to “collect funds for the election campaign”.
At its national executive meeting held here on Tuesday, Sena passed a resolution against continuing its alliance with the BJP and contesting the 2019 Lok Sabha and state assembly polls on its own. However, the party kept mum on when will it pull out of the NDA government.
“Sena is continuing in the government with the BJP despite announcing that it will contest the next elections on its own. It looks like the party wants to use the remaining tenure to collect funds for its election campaign,” the NCP leader said.
Responding to a query over former BJP minister Eknath Khadse criticising the NDA government over its policies, Tatkare said the senior BJP leader was not alone to be sidelined.
“Nana Patole (who resigned as BJP MP from Bhandara-Gondia seat), (dissident MLA) Ashish Deshmukh and many others are unhappy with the BJP. Patole has quit,” he said.
