Janjivan Bureau / Jind : BJP chief Amit Shah on Thursday said the BJP is not against any caste and would ensure ‘sabka vikas’. Addressing the party’s ‘hunkar rally’ at Pandu Pindara village in Jind district, Shah lauded Khattar for giving a “corruption-free government” in Haryana after decades. Interestingly BJP MP from Kurukshetra Raj Kumar Saini stayed away from the rally.
Shah said the Centre and state had floated several welfare schemes and there was emphasis on improving the financial condition of farmers.
Shah targeted former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and the Indian National Lok Dal for “rampant corruption and maladministration”.
He ridiculed Hooda for asking the BJP’s accountability of the Khattar government. He said the BJP is accountable to the public. Shah gave several figures to buttress his claim of the “improved fiscal provisions”.
Shah said the provision of new crop pricing is due to the “consistent efforts” by Haryana Agriculture Minister OP Dhankar.
Blowing the election bugle, Shah inaugurated the party’s 17 district offices. Earlier, amidst heavy security for the rally, Shah was given a warm welcome on his arrival.
After Shah was presented a mace, addressing the rally, party leader Birender Singh said Jind would continue to support the BJP in all elections in a big way. The BJP under Shah is determined to politically rout the Congress, he said. Jind is Birender’s home turf.
Earlier in the morning, in Karnal, Chief Minister ML Khattar flagged off motorcycles of workers and leaders from Rajgharana Banquet on Kaithal Road.
Interacting with mediapersons outside Rajgharana, the CM claimed that the BJP would continue to enjoy power for the next five years also. He said workers were full of enthusiasm and it was a historic day for Haryana.
Meanwhle, in Panipat, the police nabbed INLD district president and halqa president allegedly for showing black flags to BJP workers. Also, INLD’s Prithvi Singh and his supporters were detained by the police at Narwana. They were planning a protest against the rally.
At Jhajjar, INLD workers showed black flags to the cavalcade of BJP MLA from Bahadurgarh Naresh Kaushik when he left for Jind.
Congress president Ashok Tanwar was taken in custody in Jind. He was camping in Jind with his supporters to protest against the rally.
Meanwhile, the NGT disposed of a case pertaining to checking pollution during Shah’s Jind rally with liberty to the applicant to approach again, if need be.
