Janjivan Bureau / New Delhi : Social activist Anna Hazare on Saturday said he would not let any political party or group to participate in his fresh anti-corruption agitation against the government.
Hazare said: “Whoever joins the movement with him will have to sign an affidavit, which states, that they would neither join any political party or group nor will they contest elections.”
Hazare on Friday began his indefinite fast and vowed it to continue it till the Modi government comes up with an action plan on Lokpal appointment, remunerative crop prices and election reforms.
The activist, who held a major agitation in 2011 against corruption catching the imagination of Indians, said he would hold discussions with the government during the agitation but his indefinite hunger strike, called ‘Satyagraha’, would continue “till the government comes out with a concrete action plan”.
According to police, the agitation witnessed participation of about 5,000-6,000 people, mainly from Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Assam.
