NEW DELHI: After denial of resignation BJP leader will take serios action against Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. However CM office’s contadict the report of resignation of Vasundhara and said report is totally baseless. While the BJP top leader started the successor of Raje.
Names of BJP Vice President Om Mathur, her bete noire Gulab Chand Kataria, her close lieutenant and health minister Rajendra Rathore and Ghanshyam Tewari, who belongs to the opposite camp, are doing the rounds as probable successors to Raje.
Opposition pressure to sack Vasundhara Raje amid allegations that she helped controversial businessman Lalit Modi get residency clearance from UK is not the only challenge for the BJP as its senior leaders are well-aware from their past experience in dealing with her that even if a decision to remove her is taken it would not be easy to dislodge her.
Raje, who belongs to the Scindia royal family and whose mother Vijayaraje Scindia virtually singlehandedly funded BJP in its initial days, has always been an assertive leader who brooks no dissent.
As such, the central leadership and the RSS have found it tough to rein her in. During Rajnath Singh’s first term as BJP Chief, Raje refused to quit the post of Leader of the Opposition in Rajasthan Assembly despite all efforts from the central leadership to remove her due to her differences with the state unit and RSS leadership there.
She had even sent her loyal MLAs to Delhi to protest against Singh. Finally, when it became clear that there is no other option for her but to quit, she gave her resignation papers to party veteran LK Advani who has been her mentor all alongand did not even meet Singh.
