Janjivan Bureau / Ranchi : Seven members of a family allegedly committed suicide in Jharkhand’s Ranchi district on Monday.
Dipak Jha, along with six other members of the family, allegedly committed suicide at their rented accommodation in Bodya locality of Kanke police station of Ranchi.
Dipak worked in Godrej and lived with his parents. Police have started a probe to ascertain the reason of the deaths.
A team of forensic science laboratory (FSL) has already reached the spot. The bodies would be sent for post-mortem whose report only could ascertain the cause of their deaths, police said.
Ranchi SSP Anish Gupta said: “Prima facie, a financial crisis might be the reason of the mass suicide, though the post-mortem would reveal the veracity of the incident. Police have started probe.”
A local said Jha lived in a rented house with wife, two children, brother and parents.
A month ago, six members of a family in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh had committed suicide after getting trapped in financial burden.
