Janjivan Bureau / New Delhi : Delhi Police have booked BSP ex-MP Rakesh Pandey’s son after a video of his brandishing a gun and allegedly threatening a woman outside a 5-star hotel in Delhi went viral. The man has been identified as Ashish Pandey.
The video shows Ashish threatening a woman outside the hotel following an argument with a couple.
The video, which is full of abuse, has led to outrage on social media.
A complaint about the incident was received by the police on Monday from the assistant security manager of Hyatt Regency Hotel in RK Puram.
Union minister Kiren Rijiju said the police would take “strong and appropriate action” against the son of a BSP leader.
“The Delhi Police has initiated action on this incident, which is also being shown in the media. An FIR has been registered under the Arms Act and the Indian Penal Code. Strong and appropriate action will be taken. Also verifying the identity of others,” Rijiju tweeted while posting the video on his Twitter handle.
The police have launched a manhunt to nab the accused. The incident occurred on the intervening night of October 13 and 14.
The case has been registered under the Arms Act.
