New Delhi: Second day of the Monsoon Session was marred by protests and repeated adjournments in Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, the Opposition continued to create ruckus in both houses of Parliament on Wednesday. The Congress-led Opposition moved an adjournment motion demanding a discussion on the ‘Lalitgate’ and the controversial Vyapam scam in which senior BJP leaders Sushma Swaraj and chief ministers of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh Vasundhara Raje and Shivraj Singh Chouhan respectively are alleged to be involved.
No body (Opposition) has been able to point out which is the law that EAM Sushma Swaraj has breached. Investigation happens when there is a breach of legal provisions, but when we asked Opposition about this they had no answers: Arun Jaitley on Congress attack. Clearly the Opposition does not have correct facts and figures in this regard, Jaitley added.
When Advani and my name came in the Hawala issue, we said that we won’t enter Parliament till our names are cleared. We not just resigned, but vowed not to enter Parliament till getting a clean chit. They should do the same too. They should resign: Sharad Yadav of JD(U).
We are not saying that MP govt should be dismissed or Modi govt should collapse. We want individual resignations, then discussion, says Sharad Yadav.
What we are doing is not wrong. It is necessary to bring to the attention of the nation: Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress
Mayawati (BSP) attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying the episode had exposed those who had claimed that “na khaoonga, na khane doonga” (I will neither take bribe nor will I allow anyone to take it).
Soon after the obituary reference, Satish Chandra Misra (BSP), Naresh Agarwal (SP), Tapan Kumar Sen (CPI-M) and D Raja (CPI) said they had given notices under rule 267 to suspend business to take up discussion on Lalitgate and Vyapam scams.
