Janjivan Bureau / New Delhi : Days after the Lok Sabha elections result, three West Bengal MLAs – two from TMC and one from CPI(M) – and over 50 councillors joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here on Tuesday.
TMC MLAs Subhranshu Roy, Tusharkanti Bhattacharjee and CPM MLA Devendra Roy joined the BJP today. Subhranshu is the son of BJP leader Mukul Roy and was suspended by the TMC recently.
BJP general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya said: “Three MLAs and more than 50 councillors from West Bengal are joining the BJP.”
He said: “Like the elections were held in seven phases in West Bengal, the news joining of TMC workers in the BJP will also happen in seven phases. Today is just the first phase.”
