Janjivan Bureau / Lucknow : BSP president Mayawati on Tuesday clarified that there had been no break of alliance with the Samajwadi Party.
Speaking to a news channel, she said it is a temporary break to give SP president a chance to turnaround his party to make it a disciplined force and make his cadres a “missionary force”.
According to her, the Yadav core vote has scattered away due to which crucial seats of Dimple Yadav in Kannauj, Dharmendra Yadav in Badaun and Akshay Yadav in Firozabad were lost.
She said she was upset with their defeat, adding that there is internal strife in the Yadav-dominated areas as they were angry for some reason.
She said that forgetting the past she had entered into an alliance with the SP and received much respect from Akhilesh Yadav and Dimple Yadav. She said her personal relations with them would continue.
But owing to political necessity she would have to independently contest the forthcoming by-elections, she added.
But if Akhilesh Yadav managed to bring a change in his party they could again come together, she said.
Akhilesh Yadav, meanwhile, said his party would contest the 2022 election on its own and win it.
