Janjivan Bureau / New Delhi : Senior Congress leader P Chidambaram on Thursday moved the Supreme Court for regular bail in the corruption case registered by the CBI in connection with the INX Media scam case.
He has sought urgent hearing on Friday of his petition challenging the Delhi High Court verdict rejecting his bail plea as the top court won’t be functioning the next week.
CJI Ranjan Gogoi will take a call on the listing of Chidambaram’s bail plea later in the day.
On behalf of Chidambaram, senior advocates Kapil Sibal and Abhishek Manu Singhvi mentioned his bail plea before a Bench headed by Justice NV Ramana, which said the file should be sent to the CJI for assigning it to an appropriate Bench.
