New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Ashutosh on Wednesday condemned the attack launched by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) against Vice-President Hamid Ansari, saying that if Prime Minister Narendra Modi has any control over these two groups then he should promise that no such accusations and remarks will be made against Ansari in the future.
“The Aam Aadmi Party highly condemns the way the BJP and the RSS have launched against the Vice-President. They are trying to see his remarks through the eyes of communalism,” Ashutosh said at the press conference.
“The Party (AAP) hopes that if Prime Minister Modi has control over BJP and the RSS, he should promise the people that no accusations will be made against Vice-President Ansari,” he added.
The Vice President is facing the heat on social media for his speech demanding an affirmative action for the Muslims in India.
Addressing a function in the national capital, Ansari had indicated that Muslims in India need an affirmative action to compete with the others.
RSS ideologue MG Vaidya described Ansari’s statement as bizarre and tweeted saying that the affirmative action should be for all 125 crore plus Indians.
“‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ should mean affirmative action for all 125 crore Indians,” Vaidya said in a tweet.
Attacking Ansari, senior Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP) leader Dr Subramanian Swamy in a tweet demanded the Vice President to condemn the atrocities committed against the Hindus by the Muslim rulers before the British came to India.
“VP Ansari says Muslims face deprivation and exclusion then what about Hindus for 800 years of genocide, rape and deprivation? Will he condemn it,” Swamy tweeted.
