New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with school children on Friday on the eve of Teachers’ Day.Ministry of Human Resource Development says that the event, which will take place at Manekshaw Hall in the national capital, will include children from nine states across India, who will join the interaction through video-conferencing, besides the students present in the hall itself.
The interaction will begin at 10 a.m. and is expected to last for around 90 minutes.800 students and 60 teachers from schools of Delhi would participate in person whereas several talented children from across the country who have excelled in various activities shall interact with the Prime Minister on video conferencing mode from nine different locations. School children all over the country will be viewing or listening to the live telecast.
The Prime Minister will also release a commemorative coin of Rs. 125/- denomination and a circulation coin of Rs. 10/- denomination in the honour of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the great educationist, teacher and philosopher, on the eve of his birth anniversary. He will also launch the website for Kala Utsav, which is an initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) to promote art in education by nurturing and showcasing the artistic talent of school students at the secondary stage in 4 areas, i.e, visual arts, music, dance and theater.
Union Minister for Human Resource Development Smriti Zubin Irani, and Union Ministers of State Upendra Kushwaha, Ram Shankar Katheria, and Jayant Sinha will be present on the occasion.
