Janjivan Bureau / Patna : Janata Dal (United) expelled its vice-president Prashant Kishor and party leader Pavan Varma for anti-party activities, a statement from the party said after differences emerged between Kishor and his party over the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act.
The development comes a day after Kishor accused JD-U national president Nitish Kumar of lying when the latter insisted that he had inducted Kishor only on senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader Amit Shah’s recommendation. Shah was then the national president of the party.
Differences between Nitish Kumar and two of JD-U’s leaders, Kishor and Varma, emerged over the contentious CAA.
