Janjivan Bureau / Lucknow : Additional Chief Secretary, Home Awanish Kumar Awasthi and Principal Secretary, Health Amit Mohan Prasad jointly held a press conference at Lok Bhawan here on Tuesday in connection with the Corona virus. He said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed that in the districts where the number of Corona positive cases is less, the resources should be better utilized through patient pooling. CM Yogi has directed that the process of establishing testing labs should be started in the 6 divisional headquarters where there are no medical colleges. CM Yogi has said that lockdown is very important for the secure future of all. Therefore, everyone should cooperate with the government in this process.
Additional Chief Secretary, Home said that on the instructions of CM Yogi, the work of patient pooling is going to start. He informed that in many districts only one to two corona positive patients are undergoing treatment. In such a situation, it has been witnessed that for a couple of patients, the entire medical system gets affected. For this reason, the divisional commissioners have been ordered that in districts where one to two Corona positive patients are being treated, they should be shifted to a better-equipped hospital so that the medical system can be better utilized.
Additional Chief Secretary, Home said that on the instructions of CM Yogi, the process of setting up testing labs is being started in divisional headquarters including Devipatan (Gonda), Mirzapur, Bareilly, Moradabad, Aligarh, and additional hospital of BHU in Varanasi. He said that till now work has been started in 10 testing labs in the state. Apart from this, it has also been directed to establish a collection center in every district. He told that 1257 people of Tablighi Jamaat have been quarantined out of which 323 are foreigners, and passports of 259 of them have been confiscated.
So far, 314 cases reported in the state, 37 districts are affected: Principal Secretary Health
Principal Secretary, Health Amit Mohan Prasad said that 314 cases have been reported so far in the state, because of which 37 districts are affected. Out of 314 patients, 22 were completely treated. As of now, total of 6,073 samples have been tested and report of 5,595 samples came negative, he said.
Principal Secretary, Health said that the report of many cases came positive but the patients did not show any symptoms. A new process is being started for the treatment of such patients on the instructions of the Chief Minister. In this process, any other building near all the district hospitals will be occupied for the treatment of such patients which will help in reducing the burden on the main hospitals. He informed that at present 75 percent of the patients are such who do not have any symptoms but their report came positive.
He informed that presently there are 10,000 beds across the state for the treatment of corona patients, and under the new procedure, facilities of additional 10,000 beds are being provided in buildings near the district hospitals. There are 750 beds equipped with ventilators, however, no patient is currently on ventilator, the Principal Secretary Health added.
