Janjivan Bureau / Lucknow : Through a video message, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today directed to take strict action against the culprits involved in case of violence against policemen in Kanpur. He said that at time when entire state is fighting together against Corona, such type of activity will not be tolerated.
The Chief Minister said that keeping in view the seriousness of the matter, we have proceeded to make extensive amendments in the Epidemic Act and under this, if any person attacks Corona Warriors including security personnel, and sanitation workerst, then they will face punishment for 7 years and fine up to Rs 5 lakh.
The Chief Minister said that a few people have dared to get involved in anti-social activities in Kanpur and in view of this, I have instructed the police officers that strict action should be taken against those who are responsible for such incident. He said that strict and effective action should be taken against the culprits under Disaster Management Act, Epidemic Act, suitable sections of IPC, Gangster Act and NSA. Such type of anarchist elements will not be tolerated, he said.
