CM Yogi pays tribute to Ashwini Yadav of Ghazipur who was killed in Handwara*

Janjivan Bureau / Lucknow : UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid tribute to CRPF jawan Ashwini Kumar Yadav for his supreme sacrifice in Handwara of Jammu and Kashmir and said that the entire nation is proud of his martyrdom. He announced ex-gratia Rs 50 lakh for the martyr’s wife and parents. Also, a member of the martyr’s family will be given a government job and the village road will be named after him. Apart from this, CM Yogi has welcomed the decision of the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Council on Wednesday in the cut-off marks controversy for recruitment of 69 thousand assistant teachers in primary schools. The Uttar Pradesh Public Health and Epidemic Disease Control Ordinance 2020 has been approved under the direction of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Under this ordinance there is a provision for a minimum punishment of three months to life imprisonment and fine for different cases.
This information was given by Additional Chief Secretary, Home Awanish Kumar Awasthi and Principal Secretary Health Amit Mohan Prasad at a press conference held on Wednesday in Lok Bhawan regarding Corona virus. ACS Home said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has welcomed the decision of the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Council on the cut-off marks controversy for the recruitment of 69 thousand assistant teachers in primary schools. This decision will provide employment to 69 thousand people. The recruitment process will be started soon, following this order of Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court.
ACS Home said that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the operations of MSME industries. Also, CM Yogi has ordered the officers to make every effort to increase revenue. He said that the Uttar Pradesh AYUSH ministry has also made an app named AYUSH Kavach Covid which was inaugurated by CM Yogi. CM Yogi has appealed to all the people of the state to download this app.
ACS Home said that on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Shramik special trains are being operated continuously for Uttar Pradesh. He said that more than 19 trains have arrived so far. He also expressed the possibility of 9 trains coming on Wednesday. He informed that 38 other trains have been permitted to arrive in Uttar Pradesh. He said that the UP government has deployed 67 trains to help people from other states to return to Uttar Pradesh. He said that 13 trains have come from Gujarat, 4 from Maharashtra, 1 from Bangalore. Also, 7 trains from Maharashtra, 4 from Punjab, 2 trains from Telangana are also coming. Permission has also been given for Kerala. Trains from Orissa, Bihar and Jharkhand will also arrive shortly.
*So far 2969 cases reported in the state, 58 people died: Principal Secretary, Health*
Principal Secretary Health Amit Mohan Prasad said that 2969 cases have been reported so far in the state of which 1831 are active cases. After treatment, 1080 patients out of 2969 have recovered completely and have been sent home. Total of 67 districts of the state have been affected by Corona while 6 of these districts have now become Corona free. However, death toll has reached 58 in the state. He said that 3871 samples were sent for testing on Tuesday and total of 4469 samples were tested along with the previous ones, he said.
He said that a pool test of 259 samples was conducted, comprising 1247 samples on Tuesday in which 19 pool samples were tested positive. He said that Uttar Pradesh ranks second in the list of conducting maximum number of sample tests in the entire country. On Tuesday, 1 lakh 5 thousand 501 samples have been tested in private and government labs. Total of 1997 people has been kept in isolation and 11003 people have been quarantined. He said that at the national level, the recovery from Corona has averaged 28.71 percent while the recovery average of Uttar Pradesh is 36.37 percent.
Principal Secretary, Health said that the Uttar Pradesh Public Health and Epidemic Disease Control Ordinance 2020 has been approved in cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday. The new ordinance has a provision to give stringent punishment to those who misbehave or attack corona warriors associated with the Health and Medical Department, police personnel, sanitation workers or any Corona warrior deployed by the government. In this ordinance, all offenses have been made non-bailable.
He said that as per the ordinance, if any Corona patient deliberately hides himself/herself, then he/she may face punishment of upto 1 to 3 years, and a fine ranging from Rs 50 thousand to Rs one lakh. Besides, if any Corona patient intentionally travels through public transport, then there is a provision for imprisonment of 1 to 3 years and fine ranging from Rs 50 thousand to 2 lakh.
Principal Secretary, Health said that according to the ordinance, there is provision of imprisonment of 1 to 3 years under this law and a fine ranging from Rs 10 thousand to one lakh for violating the isolation. Hampering the work of doctors, sweepers, police personnel and any Corona warriors and assaulting them shall be punishable with imprisonment for a minimum of three months and maximum of 5 years, with fine ranging from Rs 50 thousand to Rs 2 lakh. Serious assault will carry a sentence of 6 months to 7 years and a fine ranging from Rs one lakh to five lakh.
Principal Secretary, Health said that according to the ordinance, two committees will be formed in the state. The first would be the epidemic control committee at the state level and the second at the district level. The state-level committee will be headed by the Chief Minister and the health minister will be the vice-chairman, while there will be chief secretary and seven other officials as members. Apart from this, the district magistrate has been made the chairman of the district level committee and the chief development officer as member convener.
Principal Secretary, Health said that according to this new ordinance, there is a provision of punishment ranging from seven years to life imprisonment for patients who deliberately infect someone and that person dies later. Also, there will be a fine ranging from Rs 3 lakh to 5 lakh. He said that there is a provision of imprisonment ranging from 3 years to 10 years and financial penalty ranging from Rs 3 lakh to 5 lakh for infecting 5 or more people.
