Janjivan Bureau / New Delhi : Maharashtra on Wednesday recorded 149 deaths and 3,254 COVID-19 cases in a span of 24 hours.Mumbai alone reported over 1,500 cases and 97 deaths, taking the total number of cases to 52,445 in the city.So far, 23,693 have recovered and been discharged.Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has hinted that the coronavirus-induced lockdown, currently in force till June 30, will have to be extended if guidelines related to it are not followed strictly by people.In some relief, the number of recovered patients has exceeded the count of active cases for the first time in India. The nationwide COVID-19 tally now stands at 2.8 lakh.
