PATNA: Allegation of former Union Home Seceretary and BJP MP from Ara is just like a Toofan in a cup of tea in the on going Bihar assembly battle. Where as BJP is saying it Singh personal view but the main rival Mahagathbandhan replying as the people of Bihar were aware about it and would give a befitting reply to the NDA in the upcoming assembly polls.
Singh alleged exchange of money in ticket distribution for the Bihar assembly election by some state party leaders and criticised the saffron party unit in Bihar for denying tickets to rightful candidates.
Singh reportedly targeted former deputy CM and a frontrunner among BJP’s CM aspirants Sushil Kumar Modi and said, “Popular sitting MLAs are denied tickets and criminals are being given the tickets. No wonder party workers are enraged in Bihar.” A number of senior leaders quit party posts or have protested in other ways against denial of ticket from the BJP.
“What is the difference between you (BJP) and Lalu Prasad if you give tickets to criminals?” Singh asked. He further accused the state unit of not doing justice to people of Bihar by giving the tickets to the criminals. “If people believe that your government will provide good governance, then you should act in same way. What good governance will you deliver this way? People would vote for the clean image candidates than that of the criminals,” he added.
According to sources as a cabinet secretary he gave the order of suit at sight of some Bihar criminal, now this time some are fighting the election on BJP tickets. Earlier R.K.Singh wrote the party high command that he will not campaigning for these types of candidates. He argued that how can I justified the candidature?
The Ara MP accused the party of allegedly accepting money over the distribution of the tickets in the upcoming polls. “I had called Sushil Modi but he didn’t respond to the phone calls,” he said.
Rejecting the charge, senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister Sushil Modi said, “Sometimes leaders press for their supporters to be given tickets. But all wishes cannot be accommodated.” “I get so many calls during election. It is not possible to answer all,” he added.
On other Janata Dal(United) leader Pawan Verma on Saturday said that allegations made by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP and former home secretary R.K. Singh about money exchanging hands for assembly seats and contesting tickets was grave, and added that the people of Bihar were aware about it and would give a befitting reply to the NDA in the upcoming assembly polls.
“The allegations made by R.K. Singh are exceptionally grave. He has said that tickets are being sold, criminals have been given tickets. He has said that relatives have been given preferential treatment. This is visible and the people of Bihar are aware of this,” Verma said.
“The BJP is doing this, as it knows, they are going to lose the elections and is willing to employ any means not fair, but foul, to win the election. The people of Bihar will give a befitting reply to this kind of party,” he added.
“R.K. Singh is a senior member from the BJP in Bihar and he had the courage to speak the truth. The unfortunate thing is that nobody is willing to listen to the truth any more in the BJP either in Bihar or Delhi. Sushil Modi takes phone calls only from Amit Shah. Amit Shah has decided to win this election(Bihar polls) by hook or crook, or by any means,” Verma added.
BJP MP from Arrah in Bihar, R.K Singh, had criticised his party for denying tickets to rightful candidates in the upcoming state assembly polls.
“Popular sitting MLAs are denied tickets and criminals are being given tickets. No wonder party workers are enraged in Bihar. What is the difference between you ( BJP) and Lalu Yadav if you give tickets to criminals?” Singh said.
The former home secretary also accused his party(BJP) of allegedly accepting money over the distribution of the tickets in the upcoming polls.
