Janjivan Bureau / Chandigarh : Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has agreed to attend Friday’s ceremony in which Navjot Singh Sidhu will formally take over the reins of the state Congress, revealed highly placed party sources.
The development comes following intervention of the party high command and it is learnt that Punjab affairs incharge, Harish Rawat will accompany the CM to the Congress bhavan where the function is going to be held.
One of the working presidents appointed recently, Kuldip Singh Nagra will hand over the invite to the CM personally at his residence shortly. It may be recalled that the CM has sought a public apology from Sidhu for his `derogatory’ remarks as a pre-condition to meeting him.
