UP repot to center on Bisada lynching, not mentioned the beef word

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh government report on Bisada village of Dadri states does not mention the beef word. The report said that 55 year old man was killed for allegedly eating the meat of an animal whose slughter is banned, a senior official said on Tuesday.
The state government’s report to the Union ministry of home affairs (MHA) does not mention “beef” or “cow slaughter” but states there were allegations that Mohammad Ikhlaq had consumed “pratibandhit pashu ka maans” (meat of an animal whose slaughter is banned).
Principal secretary (home) Debashish Panda said the state government has informed the MHA about the September 28 attack on Ikhlaq’s house following a rumour that the family had eaten the meat of an animal whose slughter is banned. He added the report also focuses on the measures taken by the state government to check the spread of communal tension in the area.
Panda said the report, which was sent on Monday, mentions the deployment of police force in the area and the arrest of the eight men accused of the crime so far. He added the investigation into the case is still on and a detailed report would be sent later.
The report also mentions visits by leaders from various political parties, including Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, AIMIM leader Aasaduddin Owaisi, Union minister Mahesh Sharma and local BJP leader Sangeet Som as well as the speeches given by them.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav has directed police officials to take strict action against those trying to disturb communal harmony in the state.
Officers have been also told to take strict action against those who are trying to flare up communal tension through hate posts on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp.
Authorities have asked Twitter to remove posts with “objectionable” material regarding Ikhlaq’s lynching and to block handles posting such material.
The administration of Gautam Budh Nagar district wrote to Twitter India on Monday to keep tabs on all handles that post objectionable material and block them with immediate effect. The authorities also sought a list of such accounts from Twitter, officials said.
A spokesperson for Twitter said it had received a communication from the authorities but did not give details.
