Janjivan Bureau / New Delhi : The Samyukt Kisan Morcha on Saturday demanded the dismissal and arrest of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra and the arrest of his son Ashish Mishra.
It also declared its course of action for the coming days.
The Morcha has decided to burn the effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and any “local villain” on Dussehra.
“Some people wanted to burn the effigy of Manohar Lal Khattar, some of Yogi Adityanath, so we decided that the third effigy could be of any local villain,” farmer leader Yogendra Yadav said.
Their other plans include a bhog ceremony for the killed farmers at Tikonia, Lakhimpur Kheri, on October 12 and a mahapanchayat in Lucknow on October 26.
The SKM has also announced a Rail Roko on October 18 and asked all supporters to either come to Lakhimpur Kheri for the bhog ceremony or assemble at their local gurdwara, temple, mosque or church or the protest site to remember those killed in the violence.
The SKM also asked people to light five candles in memory of those killed in Lakhimpur Kheri on October 12.
Yogendra Yadav said while the programme of ‘antim ardas’ at Tikona is final, the rest of the plans would depend on whether the government agreed to their three key demands.
The three key demands are dismissal and arrest of Ajay Mishra and arrest of his son Ashish Mishra.
“If our demands are not met we will announce the plan for the remaining four parts, which includes a rail roko on October 18,” Yadav and other SKM leaders said.
Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait also criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his “silence” on the incident.
