Janjivan Bureau / Chandigarh : Punjab Congress leader Navjot Sidhu on Tuesday questioned the AAP government over their recent announcement to provide 300 units per month of free electricity. He said the state government did not have a blueprint for the budget allocation of Rs 6,000 crore under this scheme.
Sidhu also criticised the AAP government for issuing advertisements in newspapers outside the state at a time when Punjab’s financial condition is not good.
He also wanted to know the current status of the thermal plants in the state and what efforts were being made to ensure coal supply to them.
Sidhu asked the state government about their power preparation. He said in the coming two months, power demand would be 16,000 kilowatt during the paddy sowing season. He questioned the government as to how they planned on meeting the rise in demand.
Sidhu as part of a three-member delegation is to meet the Governor on April 21 to discuss the law and order and financial condition of Punjab.
