New Delhi: Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s family members expressed happiness over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to declassify files related to the late freedom fighter, saying that the nation will fully support the Prime Minister’s decision.
“We are very satisfied and happy,” said Netaji’s niece Chitra Ghosh after meeting Prime Minister Modi here at 7 RCR.
“PM has done good work. Country will fully support the Prime Minister today… Today is the Independence Day of India,” said Chandra Bose, grandnephew of the late freedom fighter.
Meanwhile, Netaji’s nephew Ardhendu Bose told that their meeting with the Prime Minister Modi was ‘very positive’.
BJP leader Siddharth Nath Singh dubbed the decision to declassify files related to Netaji as ‘historic’, saying that the country had waited 70 years for it.
“It was a historic moment today. Entire country is jubilant because 70 years of wait for the real history to come out has finally taken shape,” he told.
Prime Minister Modi today said the process of declassification of files relating to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose would begin on his birth anniversary on January 23. The Prime Minister’s decision came after a request made by Netaji’s family members during an hour-long interaction with him.
The family members also urged the Prime Minister that the Government of India should also initiate a process to get the files on Netaji available with foreign governments to also be declassified.
