New Delhi : Offering festive season gift to the them, the government has decided to bring changes in Payment of bonus act 1965 For Industrial workers thereby increasing the bonus amount to Rs 7,000 instead of current Rs 3,500 per month. Besides the government has also raised the wage ceiling to Rs 21,000 from Rs 10,000 per month. As assembly elections are underway in Bihar, the government has taken approval from the Election commission for implementation of the decision.The government is expected to take ordinance route to implement the changes.
CCPA discussed how to celebrate 125th birth year celebration of Dr. BR Ambedkar and Constitution day on November 26.It also decided to make a request and have consultations with presiding officers of both the houses on this.The government also wants to hold a discussion on the “evolution of constitution” in parliament as well.
Meanwhile, no decision on finalization of dates of the winter session was taken today. However it will meet on 26th Oct next week to decide on it. Right now there are 53 bills pending before RS, while 8 more bills has to go to RS after these are passed by LS.
While in LS, joint committee on land bill has to give its report. The standing committee has given report on 5 bills. Sources said date of winter session could be after 19th of November.
